Mrs Myburgh, from Pretoria, South Africa, said: ‘We were nearing the waterhole and were focusing on the area around the waterhole for animals, when suddenly the eland calf entered the road from our left hand side.
‘The eland managed a last kick at the cheetah before it was brought down in the road.
‘The cheetah immediately went for the throat.’

Amateur photographer, Gonnie Myburgh, 67, took the pictures near a waterhole in the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park in South Africa while on an early morning drive
